Forecast Public Art is developing a project by national artist, Leila Daw to map the course of the Mississippi River in the skies over Minneapolis and St. Paul prior to Election Day. If funding for the project can be secured, two skywriting planes, flying side-by-side, will trace the banks of the river as it snakes gracefully through the region for ten miles. As Below, So Above may be appreciated on many levels: Reverence for the river and the environment; bipartisanship and connectivity; anticipating the completion of the I-35 W bridge; love of local geography; and an artistic spectacle on a monumental scale.
