Peace Island Picnic

On the last day of the UnConvention (some programs at Intermedia and elsewhere will continue through the election), join the Peace Island Picnic, a non-partisan family-oriented event. Following four days of marches, art and dramatic presentations and other “UnConventional” expressions throughout the Twin Cities when national attention is on the Republican National Convention, We The People CELEBRATE PEACE.

Where: Harriet Island, just across the muddy Mississippi from where the RNC will be held in St. Paul, MN
When: Thursday, September 4th, 2008 from 1 pm to 8 pm

Conflux Festival 2008
If you’re in New York, check out Conflux: “The art and technology festival for the creative exploration of urban public space.”

Starting September 11th, over one hundred local and international artists will transform New York City streets into a laboratory for exploring the urban environment at the Conflux Festival. Located in Greenwich Village at the Center for Architecture (a.k.a. Conflux HQ), the four-day event includes art installations, street art interventions, interactive performance, walking tours, bicycle and public-transit expeditions, DIY media workshops, lectures, films and music.
